Anyone who knows us, knows for the last couple years we have been looking on and off at any houses for sale and continually talking of buying land with the possibility of building. It hasn't been a serious hunt, but definitely one in which we looked with both eyes open. For the past 6 years, we have lived in my great-grandparents house. This house has been a HUGE blessing in our lives. It has allowed us to do many things, me spend three days a week at home, and Eric to complete two more degrees. We have loved it and it has been a perfect beginning to our family. However, the girls are getting bigger. Their toys are getting bigger and some days it feels as though the walls may be caving in!!
A few weeks ago, Eric happened to see a house that was for sell by owner. He never expected from looking on the outside that it would be within our desired price range,. It was. Seeing as it was, we both thought it must need a lot of updating or something must not be right with it. We decided to check it out. We liked it. We like it so much we took our parents back. They all checked it out and gave their input and they all liked it. We did something we have never done before and we didn't even know how to do....We made our first ever offer on a house!
After a week or so of going back and forth with the owner it looks a though pretty soon we will be home owners!! We are excited and have a peace that we know can only come from God. God has made His presence know throughout and that I couldn't be more thankful for.
Soon we should began the painting process and trying to make it our own. It should be interesting to see how the girls adjust. We have just now convinced Allie to move with us!:)
